Privacy Policy

The short version

• Your essay is used for one thing: producing the review you asked for.
• You need an account to grade an essay. Your essay and its report are saved to that account so you can revisit them, and you can delete any review from your dashboard — deleting removes the essay text and the report from our database.
• We do not sell your essay, publish it, or use it to train our own models.
• We never write essay text into application logs, analytics events, or error reports.

What we collect

Essay content. When you submit an essay, the text is sent to our AI model provider to generate a review and stored with the report in your account until you delete it. If a review fails, the essay and any application prompt are deleted right away and only the error code remains; your draft stays in your own browser so you can retry. If you include an application prompt, it is sent with the essay as grading context and saved with that review until you delete it.

Account information. Your name and email address, plus the sign-in method you use. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture with us; we do not receive your Google password.

Usage data. Counts and timestamps of reviews, scores, word counts, and errors — used for quotas, billing, and debugging. This data never includes essay text.

Payment information. Card details are handled by our payment processor. We store order records and credit balances, not card numbers.

Device and cookie data. A session cookie that keeps you signed in. It contains no essay content.

How the AI provider handles your essay

We send your essay to an AI model provider over an encrypted connection, only to generate your review. We do not send your name, email address, account id, IP address, or any other identifier with it.

We do not use your essay to train models, and we do not permit our providers to use it for advertising. Our provider processes the request under its own data policy, which governs how long its systems retain request data; we do not control that retention and cannot delete data held by the provider on your behalf. We selected a provider that offers an API data-processing mode rather than a consumer chat product for this reason.

How long we keep things

Deleting your data

Open Settings → My essays and delete any review. That permanently removes the essay text and the report from our primary database in a single operation. If you delete your account, all of your reviews are deleted with it.

Two limits we want to be honest about:

• Backups. Encrypted backups are kept for a limited rotation period and then overwritten. A deleted review may persist in a backup until that backup expires.
• The AI provider. Requests already sent to the model provider are subject to that provider's retention policy, described above.

What we never do

• We do not sell or rent your essay or your personal information.
• We do not publish your essay, use it in marketing, or share it with schools.
• We do not send essay text to analytics, advertising, or error-tracking services.
• We do not use your essay to train models.

Younger students

The service is intended for high school students. If you are under 18, use it with a parent or guardian's permission.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal information from your account settings. To request a copy of your data or ask a question about this policy, contact us using the address on our website.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to how essays are handled, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify signed-in users by email.
